Community Gateway
Back to GatewayRepresenting dozens of nationalities and cultures, our boarders bring with them unique perspectives, experiences, and stories that enrich life at St. Stephen's every day. Although they arrive from different countries and continents, they quickly become something even more meaningful: a close-knit community built on friendship, respect, curiosity, and shared experiences.

For many students, the Boarding Program is far more than a place to live during the school year. It is a second home.
Located in the heart of Rome, our boarding community offers students the opportunity to live independently while benefiting from the guidance and support of a dedicated team of educators and residential staff. From shared meals and evening study sessions to weekend excursions, cultural experiences, and everyday moments spent together, boarding life creates lasting friendships that often extend well beyond graduation.

As students settle into their rooms and reconnect with friends, they will also meet new members of the community, helping to ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported, and at home from their very first day.
The start of the year is always an exciting time as our boarders prepare to embrace new academic challenges, discover new opportunities, and make the most of living and learning in one of the world's most extraordinary cities. Whether exploring Rome's museums and neighborhoods, cheering on classmates at athletic events, collaborating on CAS projects, or simply gathering together over dinner after a busy school day, boarding students experience a unique balance of independence, responsibility, and community.
To all of our returning boarders, welcome home.
And to those joining us for the very first time, welcome to the St. Stephen's family. We are excited to share this journey with you and look forward to the friendships, experiences, and memories that the year ahead will bring.
Here's to an exceptional 2026–2027 school year.
