The evening will give parents the opportunity to meet advisors, hear more about the academic expectations of Grades 11 and 12, connect directly with teachers and Department Chairs, and spend time with members of the wider school community.
The program begins with small-group advisor meetings from 5:00–5:20 pm, followed by an overview of the Grade 11 and 12 programs from 5:30–6:00 pm in the Auditorium. Families will then have the opportunity to meet teachers from 6:00–6:30 pm, while an aperitivo from 6:00–7:00 pm offers time for informal conversation with faculty and fellow parents.
For families unable to attend in person, elements of the evening will also be available virtually.
These evenings are especially meaningful at St. Stephen’s because they reflect the close relationship between students, families, advisors, and teachers that sits at the heart of the school experience.
Grades 11 and 12 mark a significant period of growth. Students are taking on greater academic independence, managing the demands of the International Baccalaureate, making important choices about university, and preparing for life beyond school. Strong communication between families and the school helps ensure that students are challenged, supported, and understood throughout that process.
St. Stephen’s brings more than 50 years of IB experience to this work. In 1975, the School became the first school in Italy to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and that depth of experience continues to shape the way we guide students and families through the final two years of secondary school.
The Parent Evening also reflects some of the values that define St. Stephen’s.
Scholarship is present in the shared focus on academic growth, expectations, and intellectual challenge.
Integrity is reflected in open communication, clarity, and the responsibility we share in supporting students as they become increasingly independent.
Care is evident in the relationships that develop between students, advisors, teachers, and families—and in the time taken to know each student as an individual.
The evening also speaks directly to the school’s motto, Mens, Voluntas, Gratia: the development of the mind, the will to grow and succeed, and the character and humanity needed to contribute meaningfully to a community.
At St. Stephen’s, partnership with families is not separate from the educational experience. It is part of it.
